壯志凌雲的半生，在烽火大地上經歷了閩變、兩廣事變、西安事變、抗日戰爭、國共內戰等，並完成接收大達機、派美受訓接收C-47、單機99小時飛越大西洋等歷史性任務，隨後更接掌空運隊，開闢大西北航線，出任蔣委員長座機駕駛重任。
The years of turmoil in the country corresponded precisely with the years when I was in my prime. Like any youth with high aspirations, I joined the Air Force in order to dedicate myself to the country. On the battlefield I personally experienced the rebellions in Fujian, Guangzhou, and Guangxi, the Xian Incident, the war of resistance against Japan, the civil war with the Communists and the battles to defend Taiwan.
